Davenport Weekend
A few months ago, I went to Davenport to visit my brother and his wife. My parents tagged along.

Jordan has lived in Davenport for...I don't know. Three years? And I hadn't even visited him. Am I the biggest slacker sibling ever? No. That prestigious award goes to my older brother, who has visited me zero times in the five years I've lived in Minneapolis. :) Hi, Nick! Come visit!

Anyway.

It's a good thing I have cool parents, because we ended up going across the river to some sort of outdoor-live-music-party-fun-bash thing. Where I had a brush with fame. The Blues Brothers.

They weren't very talkative

We headed to a bar called the Daiquiri Factory. I KNOW. Who goes to the bars with their parents? (Apparently, This Girl)

Drinking with the parents. That's how we roll.

Mom, Vanessa and I didn't know which daiquiri we wanted, so we decided to try them all.

This is a brain freeze just waiting to happen

Daiquiris? Goooood.

We had another brush with fame...but it didn't get caught on camera. We bumped into Bayside High School's star wrestler...AC Slater! Okay, so it was just some dude in a band, dressed as AC...but he was definitely wearing a wrestling singlet. I still have the image burned into my retinas...and let me tell you. Not Pretty.

Anyway.

The next day, I went for a quickie run along the river, and we took a mini tour of Palmer (the chiropractic college Jordan attended).

Dear family,
Thanks for neglecting to tell me that these sunglasses make me look like a bug. A-holes.
Love, Allison

We saw all kinds of jacked up spines and skulls and bones and stuff. Note to self: make an appointment with my chiropractor.

So, yeah. Nice to see the little bro. Nice to see the rockin' sister-in-law. And it was nice to rehash these memories, because now? I don't even remember what their sweet faces look like...because they moved to Colorado. Come baaaack! Move to Minneapolis! Because, um...the weather is beautiful this time of year?

Crap. They're never coming back.

Where are the photos of AC?!?

We'll be cheering at the start, around mile 15 (around where they go under the Ford bridge on the MPLS side), and then near the finish by the cathedral. Maybe see you out there?!?!

My dad graduated from Palmer and retired a few years ago after a nearly 50-year career. Your brother attended the best. Wish him well on his career for me.
