Race Report: James Page Blubber Run 2008
A few weekends ago, I ran the James Page Blubber Run with some friends. And by ran I mean walked. And by walked I mean strolled at a leisurely pace.

The James Page Blubber Run isn't the James Page Blubber Run unless you are in costume.

So we went in costume.

As DOUBLE DARE CONTESTENTS.

Allison, Erin, Alicia, Emily

Do you remember Double Dare? Where you answer questions...or take the PHYSICAL CHALLENGE!

Well. We dressed in costume, walked the course, stopped at the water beer stop for 45 minutes...and finished with an astounding time of...1:30. One Hour and Thirty Minutes. That's one hell of a 5k!

We had a great time, even though it was rainy and crappy and miserable. Saw some great costumes, had some great beer, ate some great food.

My hope is that next year I'll be able to beat this year's time. I better start training. I think the logical place to start would be to cut down on the 45 minute beer break. Anyone have a beer bong I can borrow?

OMG - this is hilarious! What an awesome costume idea. We did a similar thing with Bay to Breakers in SF. Everyone dresses in costumes, drinks, etc. I found an old race result - we did the 12K in 3:39:03. That's a flippin' 29:22 race pace!

Wow, Double Dare ... that's not something I've thought about in years! Nice beer stop!

I'd say just do keg stands...that'll save you time because it doesn't involve any fussy contraptions like a bong or a cup.

Great job, dude!
