I got home from work.
Put on the running gear.
Stepped outside.
And instantly, my skin melted off of my body.
95 degrees.
A sane person would turn around and lounge in their air conditioned apartment.
I am not that person.
I headed out and ran 3 miles.
The first mile wasn't bad. It was mostly shaded, and while the gusting wind was in my face, at least it kept me cool.
The second mile was tougher. I walked. But I didn't feel too bad about it. The running paths were missing the usual crowd of running crazies. I guess some people have the sense to avoid running when it's this hot.
The third mile was brutal. Checked out the heart rate. 191!! Yikes. My anaerobic threshold is 184. More walking. But I finished strong.

That was some nasty wet heat yesterday.
Way to keep July-a-thon going!
Yeah, the heat will kill any good run - but hey, you stuck with it and got the miles in so you win!
I think I have decided that morning running is the only way to go. Afternoons are just waaay too hot!
I hear ya about the heat!
And I'm sorry I missed you on the run during the LTF Tri! I knew to be looking for you at that stop, but I don't have a super strong idea of what you look like. Thanks for being out there though!!!!
Wow. Great job in the heat! I used the pre-race excuse and stayed in the AC all day. Good to see you at the LTF tri water stop! I asked Steve if this technically counts as a meeting since I've added you to the "bloggers I've met" category.
GAH i hate the heat!! its been SO hot here too so i have been running in the morning instead.
