Race Report: Bolder Boulder 2008 - Part Two - The Second Lap
So I crossed the finish line and stopped my watch. Thank God...I was finally finished.

I decided to head back out to the race course - I still had three cousins running and I wanted to take some pictures of them on the course. I started walking the reverse route of the courses. Before I knew it, I was at mile 5. And HEY! There's cousin Eric!

He kind of snuck up on me, so there is no photo evidence of his sighting. You'll just have to take my word for it.

I knew it was only a matter of time before I saw Jessy and Becca, so I kept going. Mile 4.5. Damn...it's cold out.

Kept going...mile 4...kept going...mile 3.5...and right after mile 3...I spotted them!

And they're so chipper!

So I hopped back on the race course...and ran the last 3 miles...again. Round Two. But this time it was fun.

We saw a gorilla chasing a banana.

And Smurfs! Looks like they took a trip on the slip-n-slide.

What are the odds that I spotted the Army dudes...as they ran by the Boulder Army Store?

I ducked out at mile 6 - I didn't want to run through the stadium and through the finish chute again.

And I got into the stadium just in time to see Jessy and Becca cross the finish line.

I don't think they could hear me cheering from my spot

Eric and I both shaved about 10 minutes from our 2006 Bolder Boulder times and Jessy and Becca both finished their first 10k ever.

Go Team Stibal!!

After the race, we hit up the local Mexican restaurant. Holy Delicious Margaritas, Batman!!

After lunch, we decided we hadn't done enough celebrating yet, so we headed to the liquor store to pick up some essential items.

Who are we to turn down something as American as apple pie??

And they put it in a classy box for us.

PBR Me, ASAP!

And then...we celebrated. It's hard to beat champagne and Hot Tamales.

Two of my favorite things

So. It was a fun day. A fun race. Good times had by all.

Ugh, I just threw up a little in my mouth at the sight of that Boone's Farm.

Good going on the post-race race support!

So was the Boone's Farm any good? Apparently viper doesn't think so, or he had too much because it is so good.

Does Eric live in the Cities? I swear I know that guy somehow!

Looks like you had a great time. Ready for the marathon?

Great, great pictures and congrats on your super PR. I know that this type of race report could convince a lot of non runners to get off the couch and get in shape.

Congrats again.
