Another One For The History Books
I finally ran 20.

FINALLY.

And it was fantastic.

I felt great. The weather was perfect (the weatherman said it was going to rain...but it held off). I got into the groove. It was the polar opposite of last week's long run.

I've learned that I like to take the first few miles nice and slow...ease into my goal pace. So I was nervous for the first several miles. Based on last week's long run, I thought my pace should be somewhere around an 11-minute mile. Maybe 10:45 if I really felt good. So doing 10:30s out of the gate? Freaked. Me. Out. I announced to the coach that I was going to slow it up a bit and just run my own LSD.

And about 5 minutes after I uttered those words, I got into my groove. I was ready to rock. So I stuck with the group.

And the rest is history. We ran strong the entire time. It was a Great Run.

This marathon? I'm going to rock it.
