While I was out running the Crappy 6-miler-of-doom on Friday, I almost died.
No, really.
I was running...I was about 4 miles in, and all of the sudden I heard a peculiar noise.
Cr-cr-cr-CRRRAAACCK-SNAP.
CRASH.
And a huge branch fell onto the running path about 10 feet ahead of me.
Apparently, Thursday's storm had done some serious damage to the tree, and an entire branch snapped off. It was probably 5 feet long - it covered the entire width of the path.
If I hadn't stopped to stretch my hamstring a few miles earlier, I probably would have been directly under it when it fell. How scary.
So as soon as I got home, I put my RoadID back on my shoe. I know Mom would be proud.

I've been telling you to wear that ID - THANK YOU for putting it on! I'm glad your guardian angel was watching over you. :)
MOM
So glad you're okay! I always try to remember to shove my driver's license in my fuel belt but I forget. This is a good reminder!
Happy running!
