Rockin' to Suckin'...in 48 hours
Funny how running can change so drastically in 48 short hours.

On Friday, I had the dream run. The weather was cool and crisp. It felt absolutely fantastic. I was truckin' - I shaved a minute off of my average pace (that's a minute off of EACH mile. Dude!!) and still felt great. To make the run even more amazing, it was ran in the morning!! Before 8am!!! I haven't run this early since March. I am not a morning runner. So to have such a great run in the morning...well...I'm reconsidering my favorite time for a run. Maybe morning runs aren't so bad??

From Friday's run:
Mile 1: 10:11
Mile 2: 10:07
Mile 3: 9:59
Mile 4: 9:48
Mile 4.5: 4:51 (9:44 pace)
Average pace: 9:59

And then there was today. I spent about 7 hours in a car today (bleh), so I knew my legs wouldn't feel fantastic. I ate tons of crap (tasty, tasty crap) this weekend, so my body wasn't properly fueled. I didn't drink enough water. My left hamstring is tight. My neck is out of alignment and I need to see my chiro. I ate cherry Twizzlers and Hot Tamales for dinner (I suck at Nutritionathon). This was a Volkswagen Jetta run waiting to happen.

Mile 1: 11:16
Mile 2: 11:26
Mile 3: 11:45
Mile 4: 11:45
Mile 5: 11:40
Mile 5.5: 5:41 (11:22 pace)
Average pace: 11:33

Sloooow. BUT. At least I made it out there. Because 5.5 miles of suck is better than 0 miles on the couch.

So if I average these two runs, all is good in the hood. I've got a 5-miler and a 6-miler in store for me this week. And I'm doing Knee Bootcamp twice. And I'm doing a regular bootcamp class at the gym on Friday morning. This is going to be an interesting week for my body. It's not going to know what hit it. I better stock up on Lush bath bombs...I think I'm going to need them...
