I hate my car.
I went to Des Moines for a family weekend. When I got in my car and started heading home, it started shaking. Not good. I pulled over (luckily my parents were following me, so they pulled over, too). Dad said it was probably from snow in the tires - it melted and then refroze in the rims and it caused an imbalance. We scraped it off and I was on my merry way. The shaking was gone. Crisis averted.
Anyway. I continued driving home. I was in the home stretch. About a half an hour from my apartment.
And my car started shaking just a little bit. No worries, I told myself. It's probably just shaking snow off the tires like it was earlier.
I was so, so wrong.
Because then I lost power steering. And the battery light came on. And then the check alternator warning started flashing.
Crap.
Just wait. It gets worse.
Because my car started flashing "STOP" and "CHECK COOLANT". I looked at the temperature gauge. It was in the red zone. Oh good.
I pulled off at the next exit. I popped the lid. STEAM POURS OUT. Always a good sign, yes? The thingy (I think that's the technical term) that holds the coolant? Empty. Serpentine belt? In shreds.
What's a girl to do?? Yup. I cried. And then? (dials phone) "Umm...Dad?? My car is broken..."
So I had my car towed to the nearest dealership (Dude...towing is expensive. $90 + $3/mile?? Remind me again why I don't belong to AAA). I'm hoping they can work on it tomorrow.

Oh NOO!!! That sucks SO bad...I'm sorry. Truly I am.
Nothing is worse than having to pull over for car trouble! I accidentally caused a wreck when my old car overheated in traffic! You want to talk about a good feeling!
You will laugh about this one day.......well, doesn't that make it ALL better? :)
